Healthcare Year In Review, Featuring AHLA Speakers

February 25 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

- $5.00 – $40.00

AzSHA is delighted to bring to our community a preview of the American Health Law Association’s Year in Review (“YIR”) program to be presented by AHLA this coming June. Our presenters will be the same panel of national speakers who will present YIR at the AHLA’s Annual Meeting.   As you probably know, YIR is an incredibly popular core component of the AHLA Annual Meeting.  The speakers have been preparing since last June to romp through a whole range of health law developments, from FCA, Stark and anti-kickback to HIT, transactional trends, reimbursement, tax, and beyond!   This is a special opportunity to attend a fast-paced, fascinating scan of health care hot topics.

Did you hear? The AzSHA Annual Meeting and Conference has been moved to September 2025. We’ll send out more information about our new venue and programming later this year.

Please note: this virtual presentation will last 1.5 hours.

The 2025 YIR program speakers are:

Robert Homchick is a longtime partner at David Wright Tremaine LLP, Bob counsels clients in areas such as Stark Law and its state law counterparts, regulatory compliance, and fraud and abuse. Bob also represents hospitals, physicians, ancillary services providers, and others in a wide variety of transactional matters including mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and the formation and operation of joint ventures.

Cynthia Wisner is In-House Counsel at Trinity Health, one of the nation’s largest Catholic health care systems, Cindy practices in areas of reimbursement, hospital-physician relationships, health care regulatory compliance, HIT, privacy and security, Medicare appeals, kickback and self-referral, and government investigations. Before joining Trinity, Cynthia served as general counsel to the Detroit Medical Center.

Kim Harvey Looney is a partner in K&L Gates’ health care and FDA practice group, Kim focuses on operational issues such as licensing, state matters, Medicare certification and reimbursement, audits, contracts, corporate governance, recruitment, and employment.  She also assists clients with regulatory issues related to structuring mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, compliance issues related to Stark, anti-kickback, and CMPs, FCA, government investigations, provider enrollment and credentialing, and CMS/OIG self-disclosures.
