This program will look at the significant developments in the healthcare antitrust arena under the Biden administration. We’ll look at the new antitrust executive order calling for more thorough scrutiny of proposed mergers and acquisitions in hospital, pharmaceutical and insurance markets. We’ll also look at the FTC’s merger cases, the DOJ criminal antitrust action into hiring practices of healthcare entities and generally the impact of the “New Antitrust” with the appointments of FTC Chair Lina Khan and White House antitrust policy advisor Tim Wu.

Andy Gordon is a seasoned senior litigator with 48 years of experience and a national reputation in antitrust law, specializing in healthcare antitrust issues. Additionally, Andy has considerable expertise from his governmental service in national security legal issues. From April 2009 to October 2010, he served as Counsel to the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, working primarily on national security issues relating to Guantanamo and the Southwestern border. He is also an adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University where he teaches antitrust law and national security law.
