SUMMARY:The Corporate Transparency Act: What ALL Businesses Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:Effective January 1\, 2024\, the CTA requires some 33+ million companies to report their beneficial ownership information to FinCEN.  While this mostly affects previously unregulated businesses with less than 20 full-time employees\, exempt companies should still know the CTA basics as their exempt status may change.  Fines of $591/day may be assessed against individual business owners personally so it is important to be sure all companies are in compliance. Please join us for a timely discussion of the CTA and its impacts\, including how it affects lawyers\, law firms and their clients. \nAaron E. Kacer is a business and transactional Associate at Milligan Lawless\, P.C.\, concentrating in the areas of business and corporate\, healthcare and real estate law directed towards transactional and operational issues.
