SUMMARY:2022 Legislative and Regulatory Update
DESCRIPTION:This year’s annual legislative update program will focus on state legislation from the busy 2022 legislative session. As well\, we’ll provide a preview of this year’s election and what it may mean for the next two years in the policymaking arena. This will be a 90-minute session because of the amount of material to be covered. \nJason Bezozo is the Vice President for Government Relations at Banner Health.  He worked at the Arizona State Senate as the Senior Legislative Research Analyst for the Senate Health Committee and as Assistant Director for the Senate Research Staff. He joined the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association in 2002 as the Director of Government Affairs and Policy and then joined Banner Health in 2006 to manage government relations across the health care system. Jason has a history degree from ASU and a Master’s in business administration from University of Phoenix. \nMeghan McCabe is the Director of Government Relations for the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. A native Arizonan\, Meghan graduated from Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Society. She earned her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Washington. After law school\, Meghan spent several years in Washington\, DC\, lobbying at a boutique government relations firm on behalf of universities and scientific societies. Following her time in the nation’s capital\, Meghan returned to her home state and joined Arizona’s largest government affairs firm\, where she spent several years representing a wide array of clients before the state legislature and municipalities. Prior to her current role\, she served as the Deputy Director of Government Relations for the Arizona Medical Association. \n  \nLocation & Registration \nThis program will be held at the ASU Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law\, 111 East Taylor Street\, Phoenix\, AZ 85004\, Room 544. ASU does not require face masks at this time\, but of course you may choose to wear a mask. \nParticipants may also participate remotely via Zoom. A link for the program will be sent to the email addresses of registered attendees when we approach the program date. \nAdmission to the program will be $20 for members\, $40 for non-members\, and $5 for student members. Admission includes lunch\, but does not include parking.
